Are You Paying Taxes on Multiple Properties?

The Harris County Tax Office has a better idea.

Following is a letter from Susan Banks, Director of Property Tax for the City of Houston:

For several years, the Harris County Tax Office has had a program used by lenders and tax agents to receive and pay their tax bills electronically. We are now offering this program to any taxpayer with multiple accounts. As a GHBA member, the Tax Office would like to invite you to participate.

The program provides the following benefits to participants:

Since tax bills, payment information and receipts are received and sent electronically, the participating taxpayer and the Tax Office both save processing time.
Account information can be provided over the Internet (25-500 accounts), Excel spreadsheets (500 - 5,000 accounts), and text files (unlimited accounts).
Errors are substantially reduced because the electronic files are edited when the request is received so that corrections can be made prior to the submission and processing of the payment files.
Payments associated with electronic files are processed at the same time and are posted timelier than regular payments.

We certainly hope you will adopt this expedited method of paying your property taxes. The speed and accuracy of electronic processing is a win-win for both your company and the Tax Office.

If you have any questions or to request a user ID, please call 713-368-2320. The Tax Office sill be more than happy to tell you about the benefits of electronic payment you can expect.
