Sixteen years ago Rusty and I walked into the Owner Builder Network office in Arlington, TX to meet with ML Laughlin about helping us to build our own home. We had just had Joshua and our little family was busting the seams of our home we built with a builder in 1996. I literally said to my husband, "I think I can do this. I need someone to tell me what to do, when to do it, who to hire, and how much to pay." That's exactly what Owner Builder Network did for us 16 years ago. Disclaimer: I work for Owner Builder Network! I started working for them right after I finished our build job, in record time of 3 months and 1 week I must crow! Sixteen years later, I have had the privilege over the past few months to build my mother-in-law her forever home in the form of an addition to our home! Grandmama's Place is officially finished! She will move in on Saturday. You might say Uhhgg! An addition! Because of David Winchester's design talent, you can't even tell it is an addition! You can see the pictures! So all of this to say that God always has plans up his sleeves and who knew when Rusty and I dragging 2 boys and our baby boy in tow to the office of Owner Builder Network 16 years ago - that eventually God's plan was for us build Wanda Manning's forever home! We are blessed beyond measure. Thank you Owner Builder Network for guiding over 1600 families through the building process as they realize their home dreams. I am so happy to be a part!
